Well...yeah. I sort of thought there would be some detail about the event other than the title. If there's not, that's OK. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something. Undecided

So the specifics of the event are announced day of? What type of things can we expect on something like this. The start time leaves a LOT of time left over compared to a straight shot to Hallett, so I'm guessing that perhaps there are some detours along the way? How have previous events of this nature gone?

And how do you know if you win? Smiley

Does it have a "Suggested" route, and "Average Joe" scoring?
If memory serves me right, that was how last years event was advertised. I am planning to try this one, hopefully my navie won't back out at the last minute, again.........

This rally is generaly an average joe type.  You take all of the times for all entrants and add them then divide by the number of entrants to get the average time. The closest to that is the winner. There may also be other scoring events durring the course of the Rally. I will let the rallymaster Bob Straton  say more about this at the drivers meeting .

My duaghters and I ran this event a couple years ago and had a great time.  Dr. Bob and Vada would have had more fun had their Jensen not been totalled enroute to Hallett to greet us at the plannedfront gate checkpoint but they did appear (amazingly enough!) later to help tabulate scores and hand out awards!  True Press On Regardless attitude, i can tell you!!!

Do the rally!  I';s a great excuse to get out on a spring day and ogle a bunch of cool vintage cars!

Anyway, here are some pics I shot that year - http://www.realautosport.com/images/NEOkRally05/NEOkRally05.htm

Yeh...it really is fun, although I spent 10 minutes in Oilton last year trying to explain my vanity tag (ZZZZZ) to a contientious city policeman. Roll Eyes  After checking for wants-and-warrants and making sure I had my originally-assigned license plate on board as well as the vanity plate, he let me go with a "warning" because he said he couldn't stop a car without giving the driver some kind of ticket. I think he was just ticked because I wasn't speeding.

I was looking forward to this event this year, but I have a conflicting event in Oklahoma City that I MUST attend. You guys have fun--and watch your speed through those little townships. Tongue
