I went to 100AW on Saturday and it was fun. I looked for the Halley StudOmni, but didn't see it. Nothing major, I hope.

Also, I was looking forward to seeing the ruby red Himes Sentra SE-R run more. Eric Seppanen used to drive it and posted on the SE-R List sometimes. The car was going flat out in the first spectator area, but it never appeared after that. Anyone know what happened? It wasn't the car that rear-ended the yokel resident that pulled onto the course, was it?

Anyway, some pics (more after sleep and paper-writing):

I have next to nothing as far as pictures.
Mad Mike was in the Stud Bug, not in the Omni, I haven't asked him what happened with the Omni.
I did not hear of anyone getting rear ended... what stage? What stages were you able to spectate?
I had a wonderful time, as always. My stages went well, and I didn't get anybody mad at me. Well, there were a couple of drivers who wanted different ATC times than what I gave them. One was 3 minutes late, and I am not cutting 3 minutes for anyone.
After dark, it was friggin cold. I worked satges 2 and 10 Saturday, which meant I was out on course before most of the drivers had left their hotels, and stayed out until the drivers were finished for the day. We did get a mid-day break, though, so that was good.
To all of you who think it may be fun...TRY IT, YOU WILL BE ADDICTED.

[The Rest of the Pictures]

At Spectator Area C, there was a 15 minute delay. I overheard some guys talking about a rally car that rear-ended a local on stage 2, but they could have been talking about some other rally, and not the delay.

Looks like fun, Jim.  I like the old Legacy.  Those were the original Subaru Rally cars, at least of the current Subaru corporate support era.

See ...

It was clear by late Wednesday the 16th that the Omni would not come together in time for 100AW so I spent some time replacing the StudBug bodywork battered at SNO*DRIFT.

With nothing but some older, less battered, plastic laying around the garage I did a touch of Bondo work and then went with a contrasting color rather than attempting to match that metallic blue.  This is what we ended up with ...

While we had no chance of winning another national title unless ALL the Group 5 cars struck major trouble, the Production legal New Beetle would have claimed a G5 CRNC podium  had I not checked us into a control a minute early on Friday following a harried tire change.  The LF strut broke Saturday and we finished the event with a chunk of hardware chain bolted tween the body and the lower control arm to keep us from losing the halfshaft should we find ourselves airborn again.

Anyway, for more 100AW pics from around the web visit realautosport.com - StudBug pics from 100AW 05

Wow, are there more pictures from the whole rally as good as those of the StudBug?

Studbug's eyes are always cute. More so than other bugs I think because one eye usually looks at least a little different that the other.
That is a really great picture, Mike, and when I am not at work, I am going to go look at the others on your site. In the meantime, who took that pic?

They are nice pics. I wish I had taken pics, but I was too busy. I do have a picture from the ride home. It is not real clear, so I will just share with words what it was. On I-44 we saw a Jaguar XK8 with the very un-original personalized plate- "MY JAG". The plate not being tacky enough, it also had a bumper sticker that said "Bad boys drive bad toys". The epitome of taste this guy was not. He probably drove a 1984 camaro 4 cylinder before his lawsuit money came through.
