I'm sure all of you have done some street racing before. I am sorry for posting this video. If you are offended about this and want to be a JAKE-AS5 about it, all you had to do was ignore or delete the post and PM me telling me that I was wrong about it. I didn't know not to post this crazy video. I'm a newbie as you can tell. PLZ forgive me. Yee

It's cool Yee.  We all make mistakes.  GCM is all about getting our speed thrills on the track or at an autocross so we don't have to do it on the street.  I know street racing happens, it always will, but next time the urge comes around, convince those guys to come out to an auto-x and see what they can do at a timed event that tests the cars handling not just it's acceleration.

You had a blast and won your class AND novice at just your third time out.  I bet some of those guys would enjoy it too......and not have to worry about cops or wrecking into innocent cars on the highway.

And actually, I have never street raced.  I enjoy driving too much to risk losing my license or risking someone else's life to see who's car can accelerate faster on the street.  I've had a few guys rev at me, but I choose to ignore them.  Hell, once I told the guy reving at me at a light to come out to an auto-x some time and see what he can do there.  He looked at me and asked with some excitement, "You autocross?"  and started asking me tons of questions about it.  I guess it interested him.

Thanks Jason!! I've stopped street racing for a while and for some odd reason it came back all of a sudden. I have bad influences. All my buddies drag race and i'm the only one who tries something different every now and then. Most of my friends has never tried Auto'X. To tell u the truth, i have never ask them to come join me. I tried to convince them that last one we had a few weeks ago but i should have tried harder like you did with Andrew (red SVT focus). I'm just not a good convincer like you! I made a bad mistake and i know there is no-one in here thats perfect! You live and learn every day!

Thanks Jason & Kevin!!! You guys are awesome!!   Yee Yang

Hey its all cool man. We all mistakes needless to say. As the saying goes, to err is human and to forgive is divine.

I know you got all excited smoking that guy clean. I've driven your ACR and its crazy fast. With some work on the set up and the boost, I'm sure we can make your car fairly competitive and then followed by some Bridgestone RE-01Rs.

Well at this point you should know a little better since you're one of us, so keep your racing on the course with us.

Like Jason said, you're doing pretty well and you will get better as time goes by. Also, like he says don't get into trouble and lose your license.

Your ability to be a man about the issue and apologize is respected and commended.

Your approach and attitude towards this issue will take you a long way in the sport.

About running the car like that, most of us except Jason get that temptation and proceed to do so.

Jason is a good citizen and I respect him.

Well, I never said I haven't driven my car at a stupid fast speed on the street before.....I just haven't raced on the street.   Grin

See, I have even fallen to temptation before and used poor judgement. Wink

I've been known to open my car up a little on the street, so I can't say much about others doing it. I don't make a habit of it, and I certainly don't do it when my son is around.
There is a difference between winding one out thru the lower gears getting on a highway, and "Racing". Racing is something that is done on a track. When done on the street, it's simply called reckless driving.
I was young once, and somehow lived thru it. I try to teach my son that operating a vehicle on a public road is vastly different than running at a track. I know there will be a few times where he will let his judgement lapse, I just hope no one gets hurt when it happens......

there is a time and place for everything.  Busy streets and country roads aren't usually the places.  Keep it safe!

Sorry about being so harsh but take it too the track. I don't do it and ignore people on the street that want too.

Ah I see. I'm a cruising speeder but not stupidly fast like doing a 100 in a 35. No racing just going a little faster than the rest of the traffic minding my own business without weaving in and out of traffic.

Don't sweat it Yee.  From autox and this forum, you seem like a good guy and we're glad to have you at both.
The vast majority of us would be hypocrits if we denied any wrong-doings.  We live and learn and are all probably fortunate to have made it this far with some of the things we've done.
A few tips:
Don't publish video of the "not so legal" things you on a public forum (at least this one).
Don't get caught (how's it go....It's only illegal if you get caught.)
Hope your friends aren't around if you do get caught.
Hope your frineds don't have a camera handy if you do get caught!

Be smart and be around to join us for autocross next year!

Lets just stick to this, and have a blast. I am here anytime you need me bro.

Way to take it like a champ!
