  I see they are having a " ChumpCar Race at Hallett in August.  Basicly $500 cars racing for 24 hours.  Looks like fun to me.  I bet I don't sell many pictures at that one but might be a lot of fun.  I thought the schedule on Halletts web site had a mis type

Hmmm, I've always wanted to do one of these type events. I got a car for free, that would leave $500 to prep it.

The car will be the cheapest part.  I'd probably burn close to $500 in fuel running a car for 24 hours.  Not to mention, roll cage, racing seat, harness, nomex requirements, HANS, and then several other nickel and dime parts.  I could easily come up with a running $500 car but I don't know about the rest of the requirements.  The only safety Item that I have is a SA2005 helmet.
