Todd, once again thanks for your hard work. I will see you all on Easter in Tulsa.

Apparently, the Madness Garage drift event is still on for March 21st at Stroud. I can't comprehend allowing one vehicle event and not another, especially when the denied group has a good relationship with the location dating back the better part of a decade.

Agreed on the newspaper run. Neat idea. It should be 100% flattering, no ill will. Thank the town for their hospitality over the years, and express an interest to return if the tribe is willing to welcome us back.

Ugh, sorry to hear this!

So that means I've got three weeks to finish prep work on the car. Need to get on it!

Run that ad in the Stroud paper and maybe the Tulsa World as well?  Larger audience will see it, and who knows, maybe an owner of a nice large parking lot might take pity on us and offer use of it. lol

I agree on the ad as well - with the provision it's done just like Jim suggests: there should be NO Sour Grapes whatsoever in it. Just a simple "Thank You, Citizens of Stroud.... blah-blah, etc. and so-forth."

That's the spirit in which I intended to convey. A thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality while we were there, and state that we would be back anytime the tribal leaders would allow us to return.

I don't know about everyone, but I know that most of us, myself included, spent money at the local businesses while in town. I'm sure the local business leaders noticed the increased traffic on certain sundays, when those "racers" were around. I'm equally sure that their weren't many issues with "Racers" driving like idiots on the streets before/after the events. Any incidents were likely very minor compared to ~3:00 PM any weekday during the school year.......

^This. I just can't get past and really struggle to comprehend how that could happen without thinking some ill will/malice from the MG "crew" was spoken. In the recent history that I've been affliated with this group, I feel we've done everything we can do meet all expectations of lot preservation and have, at the bare minimum, earned an open forum discussion with the council to talk about where the differences are coming from. To shut Todd out completely, not only seems "unfair" but also there is more to this than is being spoken. I don't see how/what could have changed so drastically in 6 months.

Are we communicating by email or by phone? Either way I think, this needs to turn into a face to face visit. Do they have "city meetings" that are public? Maybe we should assembly a team(3) of well spoken individuals.

Maybe the drift event is paying more money to the site?

They are charging $75 per driver for the event.

If you're an SCCA member, isn't an Auto-X around $30?

something tells me the drift dudes have the indian's ear.

since the gatorade plant is closing in Pryor, has anyone seen what kind of parking surface they have?  I know they aren't closed yet, but you might start planning.

$75 per driver for ONE event is still a lot less than an established history of $30 per driver for one event a month for 9 months....

Some of that is for the initial setup cost for the group. Cones, various other things. I think it's supposed to drop after that. Point being $75 a person isn't a reflection of how much the tribe is getting, if any.

something tells me the drift dudes have the indian's ear.

I'm suspicious of this as well.

Dan Gutterman came into my store tonight to get his daughters the new Pokemon game.  I thanked him personally for helping us out and allowing us to have a couple of events at TRP this year with all the recent confusion.  He said he was more than happy to help us out since he's been an SCCA member for over 25 years.

So I'll say it again in here, "Thanks for your help Dan!"
